Layan Beach, Phuket
Layan Beach is a relatively unknown and mostly unspoiled stretch of beach located on the west coast of Phuket and forms the northern part of its more well known neighbour Bang Tao Beach. It is a tranquil beach with fewer tourists than most of Phuket's west coast beahces but is quite a popular spot for locals and expats. The beach is lined with tall pine trees that privide plenty of shade and directly behind the beach is a small river with long-tail and fishing boats.
There are only a few rustic local restaurants beside the beach but like any where in Thailand you can always find the street food carts that generally appear late afternoon. However with its close proximity to Bang Tao Beach it is only a short distance to travel to find a wide choice of eateries and upmarket restaurants within the Laguna Phuket complex of hotels.
