Cha Am Beach is one of the highlights of Phetchaburi province on the Western south eastern coast of Thailand facing the Gulf of Siam. Cha Am beach villas are a luxury accommodation choice for discerning travelers, and the whole Cha-Am area has a secluded, exclusive feel, as the town in framed by mountainous jungle, separating it form Myanmar.

Cha-am is the premier beach resort in Phetchaburi and Cha-Am villas are some of the best positioned in the whole of Thailand. Cha-am has long been predominantly a Thai resort, with the majority of visitors from abroad choosing to stay at Hua Hin nearby. Cha-Am is quiet on weekdays, busy on weekends and lively on holidays, all owing to its convenient location, 175km from Bangkok. Cha Am town runs along side the white-sand beach, which is reportedly Thailand's longest. The post office and market are close by the train station, and this represents a centre of sorts for his very small town.

On the beach there are deckchairs and umbrellas for rent, and beer, soft drinks and fresh seafood from local small vendors. For a nominal charge after swimming in the sea, go to one of the public bathhouses for washing off the sea water before sitting down I one of the bars or restaurants.

Phra Ratchaniwet Marukhathayawan, the summer palace of King Rama VI is open to the public through the gates of Rama VI Military Camp from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The palace consists of a series of one-and-two-floor units on stilts, linked by covered walkways. The whole structure is made of teak, with shuttered windows and tiled roofs and is worth a visit.

Cha-am Beach is a beautiful beach, in close proximity to Hua Hin of Phrachuap Khiri Khan, and is located 40 kms. south of the town or 20 kms. north of Hua Hin, and another 2 kms. along an access road. Cha-am was once a small fishing village, but the building of the royal palace in Hua Hin during the reign of King Rama VI, drew the attention of holiday makers from Bangkok.

Cha Am Beach Watersports

The water is home to adrenaline boosting water skiing, banana boats and jet skis, and you can always ride a bicycle along the 6-km road running in parallel with the beach. There are areas that are still unoccupied areas ideal for swimming.

Cha Am Attractions

While there's plenty to do on and around Cha Am, particularly in the direction of Hua Hin, the main appeal of Cha Am Beach lies in its ability to conjure a lifestyle of ease, leisure and quiet. A Cha Am luxury villa provides the ultimate in laid back living, with all the in-house amenities and entertainments you could need. A relaxing walk to the sands of the local seafood restaurant provides a daily activity, and the early evening is great time to relax on a sea view balcony.
