our stay at The Palace was great - everything about it was perfect, including the villa staff! One slight disappointment though was that it was high tide the entire time so we didn't really get to enjoy the beach at all - that was one of the deciding factors of choosing the villa! Either way, we all still had a great time

It was a pleasant stay at the Palace during our family trip in Koh Samui. All staffs are very nice and the chef served delicious Thai food!
The staffs have provided a neat and tidy environment for us to stay at.
And the property is exactly as it was described on the website. The follow-ups replies are instant and detailed.
We would like to thank all staffs for their services and help throughout our stay!!
We would definitely come back for visit in the near future

40th Birthday Getaway at The Palace

I booked The Palace for my husbands 40th Birthday in October 2010 for ourselves and 3 other couples with their kids. There is no doubt that the setting of this villa is truly spectacular! The views are gorgeous and we loved the peace and quiet and feeling like we were on our own little island.
The beach is beautifully kept and the gardens and swimming pool are wonderful. The rooms are all comfortable and spacious. However, there were issues with most of the TV's in the rooms (we needed them for the kids and this had been requested in our booking process), the dvd's weren't all connected up, the aircons were extremely noisy and all the rooms were in desperate need of a proper clean, i.e. not just in the areas where you can see. In fact, one of the rooms had a large paint patch on the ceiling which had been done that morning and still smelt of paint.
The staff were kind and helpful - when you could find one! Simple requests like replenishing our drinks fridge were completely ignored and we found ourselves running up and down each day making sure that waters, coldrinks and drinks were being replenished. The outside BBQ area was dirty when we arrived with cobwebs in the cupboards and sea sand in the sink. There were no glasses available or a bottle opener to speak of. The kitchen staff were kind and as accommodating as they could be. They definitely dished up some fabulous meals which everyone raved about.
However, on our last morning, they were all simply MIA and we had to hunt staff down to make our guests some toast before their lunchtime flights. I had planned a surprise dinner for my husband on one of the nights which was themed. When I asked to start setting up, the villa staff looked at me blankly as if this was the first they had ever heard of my request. Nick eventually, to his credit, did come back to the villa to issue instructions to the staff. The dinner was a massive success and the food was delicious. The planned fireworks display (thank you Nick) was incredible too and will remain in everyone's memories forever.
The most disappointing moment of the entire weekend was when I called for the final bill the night before departure and it never got delivered. It was delivered 45 minutes before we were leaving for the airport and then we were told it needed to be paid in cash because there was no credit card facility! This was extremely annoying since we had been there for 4 days and nothing had been mentioned either then or during the booking process. Our guests were all from "out of town" (not Thailand) and there was no way any of us had enough Thai baht to settle the final bill.
We have visited Bali on many occasions where they have perfected Villa style holiday options. My recommendation would be that the management/owners of The Palace spend some time in Bali to see how things should be done. One cannot simply rely on the fact that you're situated in Thailand and that therefore makes up for everything else lacking. Guests will simply no longer accept whatever standard of service is provided.
Charging a top rate should guarantee top service! The Palace most certainly has all the makings of a 5 star holiday Villa - I just don't believe it's there yet.

The staff are instructed to unplug electrical appliances when we have storms and it appears they forgot to plug some of the dvds players back in and this was easily rectified. I remember your booking well in particular your husbands birthday party as it was all booked through myself even your request for a throne for your husband to sit on though you declined this in the end due to the cost. I had fully briefed Nick of your plans and I feel it is a bit harsh to criticize us just because a member of staff did not appear to understand you surely the best person to have initailly approached should have been Nick the villa manager. I have also spoken to Nick and has told me that you did not make any complaints at the time so that makes it difficult for us to rectify a situation when we are not made aware of any problems. We had applied for a portable credit card machine well before your stay and it took nearly one year to get one from our bank on Koh Samui despite us continually chasing them so we do now have one. It would also have been nice if you had mentioned the 4 additional airport transfers I organized at cost for your friends. I am pleased that overall your experience was a good one and your husband had a memorable birthday party. I am sorry once again and hope you will come back to Samui again. Many Thanks Adam

Having spent many years on family holidays at The Palace we appreciate the true beauty and tranquility of the perfect holiday getaway - all that you could want, great views, beach, pool, live in chef who cooks the most amazing thai food ever!
Plus near to waterfalls and elephant trekking and plenty more, experience the true Thailand.

Xmas/NY at The Palace

We spent nearly 3 unforgettable weeks with our entire family over Christmas and New Year's Eve at The Palace. The staff was so attentive, courteous, kind and loving. Every wish was granted us.
The Thai food and the shakes were excellent. Khun Ahn is the good soul of the house and provided with a smile that we felt comfortable to us. Nic organized for us motor bikes and massages in the house. We needed to not worry about anything, we could relax.
The Palace is endless, beautiful room, very well-kept garden and a super pool. The location is a bit off, but we like the peace and with the motor bike, it's easy to Nathon, Lamai and Chaweng come.
We miss Khun Ahn, Mueng, Thailand and the nice weather and look forward to our next holiday we will spend almost certainly return to The Palace.
